Who pays customs and import fees?

You (the buyer) are responsible for any customs charges, import VAT or duties, brokerage fees, and similar costs your country applies to the parcel. These are not included in the product price or the shipping rate shown at checkout.

Why fees can apply

When a parcel crosses a border, the destination country may assess:

  • Import VAT or sales tax
  • Customs duty
  • Carrier handling or clearance fees

Rules, thresholds, and rates differ by country and can change. We cannot predict the exact amount for every destination.

What we declare

We declare orders honestly on the customs paperwork (description, value, and quantity) based on what you bought. We do not under-declare values.

Delivery delays at customs

Clearance can add days beyond the carrier’s transit aim. Tracking may show the parcel held by customs or awaiting fees. That stage is handled by the carrier and local customs, not by ShinyCardboard4u.

Unpaid fees and returned parcels

If you do not pay required import fees, the carrier may return the parcel or abandon it under local rules. If it comes back to us, we may deduct extra shipping or recovery costs from any refund. Refusing a parcel because of customs fees does not create a claim against us for those fees.

Domestic orders

Orders delivered within the same customs territory as dispatch do not normally attract import customs charges of this kind. Checkout still shows the shipping rate for your address.
